Grant of One Time Rights, Permission for Use and Release.

When you submit your work to Speak Up Online you automatically agree to the following conditions for publication:
I, the Young Writer and/or Parent or Guardian, if the Young Writer is under 18, agree that one time rights are granted to Speak Up Press for any writing published in Speak Up (online or hard copy)as created by the Young Writer submitting their work to the Speak Up Press as directed in the submission guidelines outlined on the Speak Up Press web site. The Young Writer and Parent or Guardian, if the Young Writer is under 18, also grant Speak Up Press the right to include any writing or artwork published in Speak Up Online in a “Best of Speak Up” edition or on the Speak Up Press web site. The Young Writer and the Parent or Guardian also acknowledge the following:
1) Represent that the Young Writer and Parent or Guardian has the right
and full authority to enter into this agreement.
2) Assign and transfer to Speak Up Press, one time rights to the writing
created by the Young Writer, copies of which have been submitted to Speak Up Press by email or regular mail and hereafter are considered attached to this document.
3) Give and grant to Speak Up Press the right to obtain a copyright
registration for a “Best of Speak Up” related thereto in the name of Speak Up Press provided that a copyright application has not been filed on the
“Writing” or a copyright registration has not been granted to the Young
Writer or to the Parent or Guardian thereof.
4) If the “Writing” is published in Speak Up (online or hard copy),
copyright reverts back to the Young Writer after publication.
5) State that the Young Writer is the sole author and proprietor of the
work submitted to Speak Up Press and that this work is original, neither borrowed, taken nor copied from the work of another author or artist, living or dead, has never been published and copyrighted except in a school publication, is not libelous or scandalous, and is currently not being considered or published in any other publication. If the work is being simultaneously submitted for consideration at other venues, the Young Writer must inform Speak Up Press.
When submitting their work to Speak Up Press, the Young Writer and Parent or Guardian, if the Young Writer is under 18 years old, acknowledge that they have read and understand this Grant of Rights, Permission for Use, and Release. They understand that they will receive notification if their work is chosen for publication and that this document grants Speak Up Press the right to publish any accepted work. And by submitting their work to Speak Up Press, the Young Writer and Parent or Guardian acknowledge and agree to the terms set forth above.
